How To Install A Shower Drain In A Shower Pan

Drain Removal

PLASTIC SHOWER DRAIN REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

START HERE WITH THE Check Listing✔

two. ATTENTION WARNING: Not for tile shower floors.

3. Your existing shower drain assembly.

4. Check your measurements

Drain pipage inside diameter must be 2" (white PVC or blackness ABS) ✔
Drain flange bore must exist iv" - four 1/ii" ✔

REMOVAL OF EXISTING SHOWER Bleed BODY

vi. Remove drain cover with flat blade screwdriver.

7. Remove the crown nut by unthreading it using needle nose pliers.

Step 2

eight. Excerpt the pinch seal exposing drain pipe and shower drain body.

ix. With mini hacksaw, brand ii vertical cuts approximately i" apart through drain body. Cut completely through drain body without cutting into shower pan or damaging bleed piping.

Step 4

ten. Go along cutting horizontally through drain flange to weaken it, just non deep enough to damage the shower pan.

Step 5

11. Once horizontal bleed flange is cut, apply apartment bract screwdriver to pry up 1" flange to pause it free from the shower pan.

Step 6

12. Remove the 1" width of drain body from shower pan.

Step 7

thirteen. Squeeze the remaining shower bleed to collapse it. The retaining nut and washer drop down, staying beneath the shower pan.

Squeeze to lift out

fourteen. Remove shower drain from pan. Clean shower floor effectually the drain hole to ensure new drain adhesion, and clean below to allow unrestricted wing motion.
